The ICT Service Desk is committed to answering all your IT queries and providing excellent customer service while giving Imperial College London students valuable work experience. The Service Desk team comprises of full time staff and a pool of students working a few shifts per week to help with the workload, especially during the college’s busier times.
More information about the role:
- The Service Desk acts as the focal point for all ICT-related enquiries and requests from Imperial College staff and students
- Collectively the Service Desk handles over 1000 enquiries per week
- Queries are answered/solved over the telephone, email and via the web
- The Service Desk is open from 08.30 to 18.00 Monday to Friday, except on college closure days
- Shifts are 4.5hrs in length and are either 9.00 – 13.30, 12.00 – 16.30 or 13.30 – 18.00
- Rate of pay: £12.95 per hour
- Each student will be required to regular work at least two shifts per week and commit to working with us for at least six months
Candidates need to demonstrate that they have:
- Ability to learn quickly, resolve problems and exercise initiative
- Good interpersonal and organisational skills; good team player
- A good attention to detail
- Ability to remain calm under pressure
- Ability to communicate effectively and clearly to both ICT and business staff, in writing and verbally
- Have an excellent command of English
