If you are unable to upload all relevant documentation into the online application form, you can scan and email supporting documentation to the appropriate admissions team
You should only do this after you have submitted your online application and received your College Identifier (CID), which will be emailed to you within 10 working days of submitting your application.
When you email your supporting documents to the admissions team, please remember to state your CID so that the documents can be matched up to your application with ease.
If you need to send documents (transcripts and certificates) to the Registry in order to meet the conditions of an offer, you will not be able to scan and email them. In order to satisfy an academic condition in an offer, you must supply the original document in hard copy.

If you have been made a conditional offer of admission by Imperial, and are unsure as to how to meet the conditions of your offer, you should speak to the appropriate admissions team.
HELPFUL HINT: If a conditional offer asks you to produce an original transcript or degree certificate, you must send the original document in the mail, to the appropriate admissions team.
When sending documents to Registry, you should try to include your CID number, and mark the document or the envelope for the attention of the appropriate admissions team. This will help us to process your documents more quickly.
Please note, you cannot scan and email these documents as the admissions team do need to see the original for verification.

If you wish to apply for a PhD, you should initially approach a potential supervisor in the Department in which you wish to study.
If your area of research is agreed in principle, you will be asked to make an application online
For a PhD (programme of study by research) you will need to identify a suitable supervisor and liaise with them over a project before making an application. To identify a supervisor in your preferred area of study, use either the A-Z course index in the Postgraduate Prospectus or the list of departments. Please refer to departmental websites for guidance on who to contact regarding PhD study, as some departments have a central liaison point.
Funded PhD studentships are available within the Faculties of Life Sciences and Medicine (advertised on the webpages of the Graduate School).
You can apply online and you can find further details and the link to our application system via our Postgraduate Prospectus.
For those interested in studying at the Business School, we would encourage you to access the online application system via the Business School website where you can find further information about their programmes of study
