The Academic Technology Approval Scheme was launched on 1st November 2007. Under this scheme, all non-EEA students who need a student visa to come to the UK to do a degree in certain subject areas, will be required to apply for ATAS clearance before applying for Student Entry Clearance (visa).
Any students already in the UK who need to extend their student visa to commence or continue on one of the relevant courses, will also need to get ATAS clearance before making a student visa extension application

Thank you very muck
Hi Sujinna,
You should, in the first instance, contact your supervisor regarding this. Your supervisor sould be able to provide the information you require.

Hello,
I am during my ATAS application process. Unfortunately, my ATAS application is putting on hold because insufficient information about research summary that must be written by the university ( ” A summary of your area of research. This should be exactly the same as the text agreed with your UK university and be at least 5 sentences in length. The text should be written by your university and explain exactly what you will be studying on your course.” ).
So, I am wondering how can I get this research summary to complete my ATAS application process ?
Thank you in advance,
Sujinna Lekmeechai
Thank you
Hi Rajiv,
ATAS applications can be made when an applicant is holding a conditional offer. The submission of an ATAS certificate is usually a condition of our offers, so an applicant would need to provide us with their ATAS certificates in order to obtain their conditional offer.
In terms of your references, you should contact ATAS directly to enquire about this, as the requirements are from ATAS, not from the College.
Best wishes
Dear Sir,
I have a few questions about the ATAS that I am to complete.
1)Can I apply for the ATAS with a conditional offer? (or do I have to wait until August 16th 2012 for my results, and if successful, an unconditional offer?)
2)I have been studying in an International School in Brunei Darussalam for the past 6 years, so I have not known any academics from my country of origin (India) for at least 3 years, so am I allowed to choose one my teachers in Brunei instead? (as I require this for the ATAS application)
3)What contact details of my referees are required? ( phone number, email..)
