Increase in undergraduate tuition fees for 2012 entry

February 16, 2011
by James Tilley

Substantial cuts are expected to the funding Imperial receives from the government for its higher education activities.

In order to maintain the excellence of the education the College provides to students, Imperial has confirmed its intention to set fees at £9,000 for Home and EU undergraduate students for 2012 entry.

Financial aid will be available to students who have the ability to succeed on Imperial’s courses, but whose financial circumstances may act as a barrier. Our message is that for those who can manage Imperial’s courses, the College will work to ensure they can manage its costs.

Further details of the financial aid that will be available to students entering the College in 2012 will be released following the Office for Fair Access’s decision about Imperial’s proposals in the summer.

Current undergraduate students, who are still studying at Imperial in 2012, will not be affected by the changes to fee levels.

For further information on Undergraduate Tuition Fees from 2012 onwards, please visit the Student Finance website

All applications for Undergraduate study must be made through UCAS

As I am sure you are aware, admission to the College is very competitive and we receive a large number of applications from excellent candidates. In order to ensure that all applicants receive equal consideration, it is often not possible to make a final decision on your application until after the 15 January.

Once you have submitted your application, please use UCAS Track to monitor progress. The decision will be communicated to you through UCAS.

Change of address for applicants

October 14, 2010
by James Tilley

Postgraduate applicants – if you change your address or other contact details after you have made an application, you should update your details within Student e-Service. If you have not received your CID number and instructions on how to activate your e-Service account within 10 working days of submitting your application, please email the Registry Systems team, stating your full name, date of birth and course applied for.

Undergraduate applicants - you should ensure that you keep your contact details up to date via the online Tracking system on the UCAS website.

As much of the correspondence sent to applicants is transmitted via email, it is vital that your email address is kept up to date at all times and that you regularly check your email account.

Visiting Imperial

October 6, 2010
by James Tilley

If you unable to attend a College Open Day, you are welcome to come and have a look round the grounds of the College during working hours. For reasons of safety and security, many areas within Departments will be restricted and you will not have access to areas such as laboratories, workshops, lecture theatres and the College’s libraries. The halls of residence can only be visited during an official College or Departmental Open Day

See details of Campus tours and all Undergraduate and Postgraduate Open Days

Although we would recommend attending one of the main College Open Days, if you are unable to do so, you may wish to try and arrange an individual visit. Most Departments can arrange this if given advance notice. This type of visit cannot be guaranteed and may not be possible at all times of the year, or at short notice, as it will depend upon the availability of staff within the Department concerned.
