You must do this in Student e-Service

Please follow these instructions

You can request a visa letter to assist friends or family members who will attend your Graduation Ceremony from the Imperial College Graduation team.

What is ATAS? Do I need ATAS clearance?

October 15, 2010
by James Tilley

The Academic Technology Approval Scheme was launched on 1st November 2007. Under this scheme, all non-EEA students who need a student visa to come to the UK to do a degree in certain subject areas, will be required to apply for ATAS clearance before applying for Student Entry Clearance (visa).

Any students already in the UK who need to extend their student visa to commence or continue on one of the relevant courses, will also need to get ATAS clearance before making a student visa extension application

Extending a visa in order to re-sit examinations

August 25, 2010
by James Tilley

If you have completed all your studies and only have some resits to do, then it will not be possible to extend your visa in the UK. Instead, you will need to return to your home country and make an application to return to the UK on a Student Visitor Visa. Links to the Student Visitor Visa application form and guidance notes are available here:

http://www3.imperial.ac.uk/international/current/visas/applicationforms

The College Registry can produce a Student Visitor Visa letter for you with details of the month when your resit examination will be held.

Do I need a CAS statement for my Visa application?

August 24, 2010
by James Tilley

A CAS statement is not a compulsory requirement for a student visa application. All you need is your CAS number, which will be generated soon after you have fulfilled all the conditions of your offer (for new students). Imperial College is not currently issuing CAS statements. Instead, the information about your course that you need to complete your student visa application is available from Student e-service. Please also see the International Office webpage for links to student visa application forms and guidance notes: http://www3.imperial.ac.uk/international/current/visas

What is a CAS?

August 12, 2010
by James Tilley

A CAS (Certificate of Acceptance of Studies) is required for all Visa applications for students wishing to study at Imperial.

Please note that the CAS has replaced the hard copy Visa letter. If you require a CAS, you will not receive this in hard copy. All UK Border Agency staff around the world are aware that you do not need to provide a hard copy CAS statement during your Visa application.

When will I receive my CAS?

August 12, 2010
by James Tilley

If you are made an offer of admission to study at Imperial, you will most likely receive a conditional offer.

Once you have satisfied the conditions of your offer, you will receive an email notifying you that your CAS number can be viewed in Student e-Service. This can take a few days from when you submit your documentation to satisfy the conditions.

Upon receiving this email, you should login to e-Service.

To view the CAS number, select the Personal Details tab, and then click the ‘Passport/Visa’ link. Your CAS will be displayed towards the foot of the page.

If you have waitied longer than a week for your CAS, please contact the appropriate admissions team.
