Answering your Visa Question in Student e-Service

June 8, 2011
by James Tilley

If you have accepted an offer through UCAS, including an Insurance offer, you are required to inform Imperial of your visa requirements.

You must do this in Student e-Service

Please follow these instructions

Once you have accepted an offer in Student e-Service, you will be prompted to answer some questions regarding who will be responsible for the payment of your College fee (tuition fees).

If you are to fund your studies yourself, or if your family are to fund your studies, please select the ‘I accept responsibility for the payment of my own College Fee’ option

If you are to be sponsored, please select the’ Responsibilty for the payment of my College Fee will be accepted by a sponsoring organisation’. If details of your sponsor have not yet been finalised, please select the “self-funded” option and once details of your sponsorship have been confirmed, please email the details, remembering to state your CID, to the appropriate admissions team

Sending documents to meet the conditions of an offer

August 24, 2010
by James Tilley

If you are made a conditional offer of admission, you will be asked to produce original proof of previous qualifications.

To meet the condtition of the offer, you must send the original hard copy (not a photocopy) of the document which has been requested in your offer. This is usually an academic transcript or a degree certificate.

Documents should be sent to the appropriate admissions team

It is usually possible to amend your start date providing your department and supervisor are happy to agree this. Please contact them to discuss this issue further – they can then ask the appropriate admissions team to prepare an amended offer for you.

The Imperial College Business School has separate arrangements for deferring offers, so this information does not apply to research degrees there.

If you are holding a conditional offer for 2010 entry and you wish to defer this for 2011 entry then the course organiser or department will need to agree your request. Please contact the course organiser directly to request this. If you do not have their contact details then check the Postgraduate Prospectus

Please note that if you are holding an offer for MSc Petroleum Geoscience, MSc Petroluem Geophysics, MSc Petroleum Engineering and MSc Metals and Energy Finance, you will not be permitted to defer. If you wish to be considered for the following year, you will be asked to submit a new application.

Please note that courses run by the Faculty of Medicine will not agree to defer offers, but may be willing to reconsider your application next year. Some other courses may not agree to defer offers due to high demand for places.

The Imperial College Business School has separate arrangements for deferring offers, so this information does not apply to their courses.

Questions about your conditional offer?

July 29, 2010
by James Tilley

If you have been made a conditional offer of admission by Imperial, and are unsure as to how to meet the conditions of your offer, you should speak to the appropriate admissions team.

HELPFUL HINT: If a conditional offer asks you to produce an original transcript or degree certificate, you must send the original document in the mail, to the appropriate admissions team.

When sending documents to Registry, you should try to include your CID number, and mark the document or the envelope for the attention of the appropriate admissions team. This will help us to process your documents more quickly.

Please note, you cannot scan and email these documents as the admissions team do need to see the original for verification.
