Schneider recognised by Duke

Professor Michael Schneider, Head of Imperial’s National Heart and Lung Institute, was presented with a Distinguished Alumnus Award by Duke University, North Carolina on 15 October. Professor Schneider undertook medical training at Duke from 1976–78, before embarking on a distinguished career in cardiovascular research. Among his most notable achievements is the discovery that latent stem cells exist in the heart in both mice and humans.
