New partnership takes off

On 15 March Imperial and major aerospace manufacturer Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC) agreed to establish a £2.5 million centre for forming lighter and stronger aircraft components at the College. The researchers at the AVIC Centre for Structural Design and Manufacturing from the Department of Mechanical Engineering will also focus on developing advanced computer modelling to improve manufacturing processes.
