Awards Honors

Dr Vivian Onyebuchi Ikem (MSc Chemical Engineering and Chemical Technology 2005, PhD 2010) was awarded the Henry Edward Armstrong Memorial Trust medal by the Deputy Rector, Stephen Richardson, at an event on 30 March 2012.

Vivian was recognised for her PhD research developing highly porous, permeable and mechanically sound materials, via a technique called emulsion templating, for use as filters in oil wells.

Academic promotions 2010

Professor Stephen Richardson

The dedication of Imperial’s academics to research and teaching has been recognised in this year’s academic promotions exercise. Across the College, 84 academics have been promoted to positions of senior lecturer, senior research fellow, reader or professor.
