They came, they sang, they protested. On Saturday 9 October, thousands of scientists gathered outside the Treasury in Westminster to protest against threatened cuts in UK science spending. Stephen Curry, Professor of Structural Biology (Life Sciences), who has been closely involved in organising the Science is Vital campaign, reports:

Science is Vital campaign

Stephen Curry, a Professor of Structural Biology in the Department of Life Sciences has been closely involved in organising the Science is Vital Campaign. The campaign was sparked just a month ago by Dr Jennifer Rohn, a Research Fellow at UCL in reaction to a speech in which Business Secretary Vince Cable hinted at cuts in government spending on science. Stephen reports:
