Between Tuesday 19 and Thursday 21 July a Selmer Serie 2 alto saxophone was taken from inside the Imperial College London music store room.

The saxophone is identifiable by the custom black rubber palm risers (example of palm keys on the tenor sax here) fixed on the D and F key and a small piece of cork stuck onto the front Bb key. It also has a copper neck (crook), this is a very slightly pinker colour than the sax.

The police have been notified and the instruments serial is recorded (6XX164), there will be no questions asked upon its safe return to the store. It is of great sentimental value.

Please contact Chaz by email or phone (+44 7757 940581)  if you are able to assist.

There is a £200 reward for any information directly leading to its safe return. Please report this immediately if you see it for sale.

Television opportunity

August 24, 2011
by Jessica Adams

A television show being produced for the Discovery Channel is currently on the lookout for individuals to appear on a new show. The company responsible for the recruitment of participants, Fever Media, describe the show as follows;

“It is a series called Dealers, which sees five high-end, international dealers bid for absolutely any item that enters their dealing room (without knowing in advance what artifact might be pitched before them). They are well-connected and experienced dealers with a range of specialisms, so are able to offer good prices for rare, valuable and obscure objects of any shape or size.

We’d like to captivate our Discovery Channel audience with a broad scope of surprising pieces: this could be anything! Artwork, instruments, historical artifacts, vintage vehicles, fossils, taxidermy, memorabilia, comics, clocks, a piece of moon rock… Absolutely anything!”

Anyone interested in taking part can should email either the show, or contact Ruth Overend at Fever Media directly by email or on 0207 428 5741.
