The AUA London Regional Conference will be held on Tuesday 6 December at UCL with the theme ‘Changing Times in Higher Education’. It has a varied programme of seminars and sessions. Some of the topics covered include
- Change management
- Process improvement (Processfix)
- Environment and sustainability
- Policy changes (Universities UK)
- Changes in HR
- Student accommodation in London
- Combating international extremism
- Customer care (student shadowing)
- Supporting students’ careers
- Finance explained for non-specialists
- Legal issues in Higher Education
- Customer service for international students
As well, there will be personal development topics covered such as;
- Enhancing effectiveness through wellbeing
- Increasing your impact and influence
- Understanding assumptions, prejudice and stereotyping.
Speakers are from a wide variety of Higher Education, public and private sector backgrounds.
The Chair of AUA will provide a plenary address. There will also be a closing debate and an evening reception. There will also be the opportunity to visit the UCL Art Collection and the Strang Print Room, as well as a peer session for PG Certificate participants.
Delegate fees are a reasonable £95 for AUA members and £145 for non-members (if you are a non-member and attend this, you may as well join AUA for the year). Places are filling up fast so booking is recommended soon.
