As you might have guessed from my strapline…I can be a bit of a foodie. So from time to time I’ll put up some tried and tested recipes, let me know what you think! In true student style they are very cheap, very simple and very quick to make!
So, first up… SMUSH – an amazing invention created by some girls on my corridor…
1- Get half a packet or so of digestive biscuits
2 - Break the biscuits up a bit – whack it on a table, punch it, hammer it with a saucepan, whatever.
3- Melt a bar of chocolate – whichever flavour you like.
(I’ve been told you can’t melt chocolate directly in a saucepan or microwave because its too delicate. I’ve always just ignored this and dropped it in an empty saucepan over a low heat – works for me!)
4- Mix chocolate and bashed up biscuits.
5- Eat quickly! You can be posh and put it in little cupcake cases, or be like the people in my kitchen…and eat it straight out of the saucepan it was made in!
This recipe can also be padded out and poshed up a bit- variations we have tried include cornflakes, raisins, other biscuits, marshmallows…
Trust me, make this for people and they will love you! And it needn’t break the bank, it can be made from Sainsburys basics – which come to less than £1 in total and its enough for at least 4 people!

SMUSH!!! Ahahaa I did not realise you had put this up Dawn! But smush is so good, cheap and yummy
I’ve not made any in ages, I’ll have to do it again soon.
(But you’re wrong, chocolate should be melted in a bowl over hot water. Not impressed.)
