As many of you may not know, yesterday was Gender Equality Day, the first day of One World Week. My society (Women in SET) in collaboration with Science Media Production students made an awesome film about perceived gender equality in the lab. Sounds complicated, boring and dry? Well, we’ve got a microscope in lingerie and centrifuge in a tutu. Who would want to miss that? Here it is, please watch and comment! I have to specially thank Dom Rees-Roberts and his wonderful team :)

It was projected onto the Queen’s Tower yesterday! Watch out for all the other awesome events lined up for the week (including I-Nite).

Also, I’ve been getting e-mails from students applying for Mechanical Engineering. So I am going to steal Corrie’s idea and devote a page to ‘Why Mech Eng’. The link is to your right, check it out ———>

If it’s not there yet, well, get a time machine and go 3.5 days ahead in time.

Many final year high school students must be eagerly awaiting their Imperial offers. Most interview rounds are over, so this is understandable. If you are feeling nervous or restless or bored in this waiting period you can drop me an e-mail ———->

The best of luck to you all, and thanks for reading!

I can’t see the link to “Why Mech Eng” – would you be able to post it on the page? Thanks!

Good documentary. Hope to see your interview soon. By the way when you say final year students, do you mean students in the final year of their Secodary School?. I am sure you shall receive loads of e-mails from European School students of Belgium given your reputation there as THE great of maths & physics.
