Host an international student

February 14, 2013
by Noticeboard

HOST UK is a charity which enables international students to spend a few days with a host family. Visits are possible for anything from half a day, two-three days over a weekend or over the Christmas and Easter holidays (including Christmas day).

HOST is always looking for hosts who are interested in meeting people from other cultures and can welcome international students studying all over the UK into their homes. A HOST visit is about chatting and eating together, joining in with everyday life at home and in the local community, and maybe a little exploring of the host’s area.

If you could host a student for one or two visits per year, please see the HOST UK website for more information.

They’re more than happy to have staff involved, so why not join in the fun and raise money for charity? You can find out more at the ICU’s website.

Monday: Crazy Day
Including lots of stunts and a hog roast plus the main feature…. a bungee jump on Queen’s Lawn!

Thursday: Secret Valentine and Movie Night
We are giving people the opportunity to send out Valentine’s Day cards and chocolates as well as having our Acappella groups on hand to serenade to people. In the evening, we are holding a Movie Night at the Union with films, pizza and ice cream with all profits going to RAG.

Friday: Valentines Masquerade Ball
On the last day of the week we will be holding a ball at an exclusive London venue yet to be decided. The raffle will be drawn on the evening, with tickets having been sold all week.
