It seems like the perfect time to launch a web forum blog as College branded blogs become available for staff and students. But as well as testing out our new blogging system, this blog has a serious, and hopefully useful, purpose.
Imperial’s new web strategy commits to providing a package of support and improved communication for website owners across the College. You’re one of over 300 people right across Imperial looking after College websites – we’re a big, diverse community packed full of great examples of good practice that should be shared. And the web is a really exciting topic, developing at such a fast pace that we need a way of ensuring we all know the direction of the College web strategy and have a chance to contribute to priorities.
So, we aim to use this blog to let you know about College web projects, site launches, tips and tools for editing the College website and forthcoming site owner events. We’ll also talk about good practice websites and general developments online.
But we hope it won’t just be us talking – we also hope you’ll use the blog to give us feedback and contribute your suggestions. Comment on the posts, ask questions and share your ideas and views. And if you fancy writing a guest post, let us know!
So who’s blogging?
We’re the College’s central web team – from the Communications Division, ICT and the Faculties. We look after the top level of the College website, set design and content standards for the entire web presence, develop and improve CMS functionality, support new sites and new site owners and explore and implement new technologies online.
