I’m very pleased to announce that we’ve launched the new Postgraduate Prospectus 2010-11 online. This is the official site for course and application information for prospective postgraduate students, and is one of the most popular sites within the College web presence, with the prospectus homepage regularly appearing in the top 10 most visited pages within our site.
So check out the new PG Prospectus online – and tell us what you think…
Don’t forget to double check any links you have to the Postgraduate Prospectus on your departmental sites to make sure they still work!
So what’s new this year?
- We’re trying something exciting on the Prospectus homepage, featuring video clips of a group of College academic staff who share their thoughts on teaching postgraduates and explain their research specialisms. This ties in closely with the cover of the printed Postgradate Prospectus which will be published in early October. Big thanks go to the academic staff who gave up their precious time to take part in the film and photography shoot!
- We’re trying to duplicate less material in the online Prospectus. Last year, we built a large number of pages in the online Prospectus detailing student services and support, campus facilities and accommmodation. Since almost all of that content is covered in existing websites, we’re no longer doubling up the content (and confusing search engines!) and are instead linking directly to the relevant support service. See the new “Life at Imperial” page within the Prospectus online to see how.

We’re now working on a new process for managing student recruitment information online – and I’ll be blogging about that soon. So if you’re responsible for course pages on your departmental sites, watch this space…!

I would be really interested in an updated prospectus, just thought I’d register my interest while i’m searching. Please forward me one if at all possible.
