1. Linking to other pages
To make some text a hyperlink to another page simply select the text and click the hyperlink button on the toolbar.
This will display the hyperlink wizard:
To link to another webpage ensure that link type is set to http (this should be set by default).
If the webpage is an external page type the address into the link box and select the open in new window option. IMPORTANT – College rules require all external links to be opened in a new window.
If you wish to link to an internal page in Portal CMS select the Find link in the hyperlink wizard. This shows list of all CMS sites. Click on the required site, and a Site Map for that site appears. Use the + symbols to expand the Site Map and click the Return Page Link text to select this page as the destination of the link. Click OK to add the link to the text.
You’ll notice the new window icon will appear after a link to an external page. See later page for instructions on how to add a link to an image.
If a link is to an internal page that requires a College login the internal page icon must be added after the link. This can be added using the add-ins button on the toolbar.
A link may be removed by clicking the highlighted text and selecting the remove link button. On the toolbar.
2. Linking or uploading a file
To add a file, such as a pdf, to a page select the text you wish to be highlighted as the link and click the Documents button on the menu.
