Yes. All content that has been uploaded using the Uploader will appear in the Media Library once it has been branded and encoded. In addition, since the Uploader was created to allow the easy branding and distribution of content you may simultaneously choose to publish your content to iTunes U if desired. Please see step 3 of the post “How do I upload content?” for more information.
Because iTunes U is an external site any content that is designated for publication on our iTunes U channel will only become available once it has been approved by the Digital Media team in the Communications and Development Division. This process is initiated automatically when you indicate that you wish for your content to be published on iTunes U.
You can follow the progress of your content from the Dashboard in the Media Library, once logged in.
Can I publish my content to iTunes U at a later date?
Yes. If you initially chose to only publish your content to the Media Library it is still possible to publish it to iTunes U at a later date. Your content will then be approved by the Digital Media team in the Communications and Development Division.
Please note that it is not possible to solely publish content to our iTunes U channel. By default all uploaded material is included in the Media Library.

Objective
This application adds a list to a web page (within portal). It lists all the people within a portal usergroup and displays them in an A-Z listing based on surname. The list defaults to show all the ‘A’ surnames first.
More information
You can people to the list by simply adding people to the usergroup. If you do not want to change a usergroup (e.g. a department usergroup) then you can create a new usergroup then add the usergroup to it.
Unfortunately you cannot remove people. If the user person leaves the college then they are automatically removed.
Also, you will need ‘Manage’ rights for the page to add this and the list is updated every night.
The personal information shown in this is currently available on the web from other sources within the College and so this is not adding to the exposure of personal information to the web. However access to the page can be controlled through the access settings.
How to add
- Select the ‘Edit’ link on the login bar (at the bottom of the web page) then
- Select the add item icon (see image below)

- Select ‘People list’ from the Content item type selection

- then select ‘Next’ and then ‘Finish’
- This will return to the web page with a ‘Assign user group’ link
- In the form provided, search for the usergroup name that you would like to use
- Select the usergroup you desire and click on the ‘Select’ button

Step 1
You need to send in a request (email) to the ICT service desk. Please
- Give the url of the website that you would like to have the search filtered on (i.e. www.imperial.ac.uk/webguide) and
- Make the email for the attention of the BS web support group
- Also if you want it placed in a certain place on a page then please indicate the url of the page and the position within that page and we will insert this for you
With this request, a ‘collection’ will be created in the Google search application which filters the results for this nominated website.
Step 2
Note: This step is ONLY required if you have not indicated where you want the filtered search appearing (point 3 above).
A html portlet needs to be added to the page and the following code inserted:
<form action=”http://www.imperial.ac.uk/search/results” method=”post”>
<label id=”hidelabel” for=”searchwords”>Search for:</label>
<input maxlength=”1000″ name=”searchbox” type=”text” value=”Search ICT” />
<input id=”quicknav” title=”Search” alt=”Search” src=”/pls/portallive/docs/1/9749699.JPG” type=”image” value=”search” />
<input name=”collection” type=”hidden” value=”XX” />
<input name=”sr” type=”hidden” value=”0″ />
<input name=”secure” type=”hidden” value=”1″ />
</form>
Where XX is the name of the website (i.e. webguide).
