Can I have my own web page?

There are two different methods for creating your own web page.

If you would like to create a personal website about yourself and your work, you can create a Professional Web Page (PWP).

If you would like to create a website about your research group or field, you can create a new website within the College content management system

 

 

 
 

How do I edit my Professional web page (PWP)?

PWPs consist of a home page and five sub-pages (Honours & Awards, Research, Publications, Commercial Activity, Teaching).

Information can be added to your PWP in three ways:

  • From the College Directory
  • Via the Symplectic Elements database (where you see this link “Manage data in Symplectic”)
  • Entered directly into by the PWP via the content editor. (where you see this link “Edit Content”)

They are available for all staff (academic and non-academic) and post-graduate researchers. They consist of a home page and five sub-pages (Honours & Awards, Research, Publications, Commercial Activity and Teaching).

PWPs have three sources of information:

PWPs have to be created manually for new staff members by their Faculty Web Officer.  If you want to set up your PWP please contact your Faculty Web Officer.

Your PWPs forms part of your external professional image and is often the first Google result for your name.  It is therefore a good idea to keep it up to date.   It is suggested that you include a photograph and short biography on the front page of your PWP.  If you are not using a sub page, please use the display controls to ensure the empty page is hidden.
