Welcome to the home page of the Structural Biomechanics Group
in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Imperial College London

The structural biomechanics group carries out computational and experimental research in orthopaedic and biomedical engineering. In particular the group draws upon techniques and concepts familiar to structural engineering, and applies these in the field of biomechanics.

   

The group is persuing research in a number of areas including continuum and structural computational modelling of the musculoskeletal system, and dynamic simulation of movement of the musculoskeletal system.

The group has active research collaborations with the Department of Mechanical Engineering, the Department of Bioengineering, and Musculoskeletal Surgery within the College.
