The London Number Theory Study Group holds termly series of talks on a topic of general interest to London's number theorists.
This term (Summer 2013) there will be one study group, on the new approach to proving Langlands functoriality proposed by Langlands, Frenkel and Ngo using ideas from the geometric Langlands program. It's organized by Alex Paulin. Alex says:
"Really this is an excuse to try and understand what the geometric program is all about, so much of the term will be taken up with getting to grips with the basic concepts. For an overview of what we'll be covering look at the following survey: http://arxiv.org/abs/1202.2110"
The study group will take place in room S4.36 of the maths department at Kings. There will be two talks per week, occupying much of the space beween 1300 and 1530.
The study group will start on 1st May.
