Course Information:

 Problem sheets. The course will have 10 problem sheets handed out at one of the lectures each week. The sheets will also appear on the web page.

 

Solution sheets. Solutions to the  problem sheets will be posted on the web page about 2 weeks after the sheets are handed out.

Recommended books

For group theory and rings, there are many good introductory books. Here are a few suggestions:

For linear algebra, here are a few good ones:

Assessment. There will be two tests during the course. The dates are 9 February and 8 March 2012.
